Both lines are about Heritage Items and Conservation Areas, not every roof in North Sydney, and neither says how a repair is done or what it costs. Ask the Council whether the property is a Heritage Item or in a Conservation Area, and what it wants to see before work starts.
Permits and North Sydney Council rules
Whether a roof job here needs approval is for the council to confirm: repairing or replacing non-structural roof cladding is exempt development under the state's code, but not on a heritage item or in a heritage conservation area.
